Jillian Bezner's Web Design Class Website
Jillian (Jill) Bezner is currently searching the job market for an entry-level position in public relations, communictions, promotions, etc. She was formerly a public relations intern at the Austin Chamber of Commerce from August 2009 to May 2009. There, Jillian created press releases, updated the Chamber's website and created features for newsletters. She also has previous public relations experience from two other internships. From January to May 2009, Jillian interned at Kristy Ozmun Public Relations where she was the head intern on two accounts. After this internship, Jillian furthered her hands-on experience by interning at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. There, she continued to better her writing skills, maintain databases and create press advisories. Jillian also wrote an online news feature for the Wildflower Center’s website.
Jillian is very involved in extracurricular activities at Texas State. She has been a member of the multicultural hip-hop dance group, Harambee, since January 2008 and has been an officer since August 2008. Jillian has also been a mentor to incoming students at Texas State both August of 2008 and 2009 through the Paws Preview program. She is a member of PRSSA and AWC.
Jillian is a public relations senior at Texas State University—San Marcos. There, she has been on the Dean’s List every semester and was elected to be one of Texas State’s 2009 Who’s Who Among College Students. She was also named among the College of Fine Arts and Communication’s 2009 and 2010 Council of Scholars. Most recently, Jillian was awarded the Dean's Scholarship of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. This scholarship is presented to the most deserving student from each department in the School of Journalism. Jillian will graduate in May 2010 from the College of Fine Arts and Communication.
